City Mosque Donation

Representatives of a Preston Mosque visited Royal Preston Hospital to present a donation of £12,000 to the Emergency Department.

The donation by Masjid Salaam, in Watling Street Road, was made as a token of thanks for the hard work of the Emergency Department Team and their support for the community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Chief Executive Kevin McGee accepted the donation alongside representatives from the department and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity helps to provide extra care and support for both staff and patients that is beyond core funding; including helping to refurbish hospital environments, installing state-of-the art equipment, and supporting research projects to improve people’s health outcomes.

Head of Charities, Paula Wilson said: “This generous donation means so much to our amazing ED colleagues, they have, and continue to work under extreme pressures, it’s so lovely to receive donations such as this, we are extremely thankful to the members of Masjid E Salaam Mosque for their wonderful act of kindness. I know what a difference this will make”
