Our Charity Family
We have two other charities here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which make up our Charity family. The Rosemere Cancer Foundation, which supports world class cancer treatment and BabyBeat, which supports babies and mothers being cared for in the maternity units at our hospitals.
Baby Beat seeks to save the lives of babies not yet born and give the babies born in our area the very best chance for life at the start of their journey into the world. Everything we fund is additional to what the NHS provides and makes a real difference to local families.
Maternity services at Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley & South Ribble Hospital are now at the forefront of new technology, with the vital support of Baby Beat. We are proud to support mothers and babies who are local to the Central Lancashire area, alongside families from across the whole of Lancashire and South Cumbria in the specialist neonatal unit at Royal Preston Hospital.
The Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports the provision of world class cancer treatment throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria, working in partnership with local clinical staff to achieve the best possible care for cancer patients whether they be treated here at Royal Preston Hospital or at one of the further seven local cancer units we support – Chorley, Blackpool, Burnley, Blackburn, Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow.
We seek to do this by:
- Funding cutting-edge equipment to help clinicians remain at the forefront of the fight against cancer.
- Supporting services and projects aimed at taking the fear out of cancer for patients and their loved ones during their treatment, making it as comfortable and stress free as possible.
- Backing local research projects that help improve our understanding of cancer, and how it can be better diagnosed and treated.
