Some of our supporters choose to take on a personal challenge or fundraising event in tribute to a loved one, just like Linzi Wallace, who walked over 100 miles in September 2025 to raise funds for our Critical Care Unit in memory of her godson, Josh McKee. And former nurse Julie Appleby and her family, who continue to honour the memory of her beloved son Daniel, raising an incredible £8,073.25 to help refurbish the Parents’ Room on our Children’s Ward at Royal Preston Hospital – creating a calm and supportive space for families during difficult times.
Linzi Wallace’s Story:
This is my tribute to Josh. I hope this donation in his name will help to ensure that the Critical Care Unit’s amazing staff have the best technology to help patients like Josh.
Julie Appleby’s Story:
I am lucky to have such generous family, friends, and staff, who have willingly helped us raise our donation. Losing Daniel is something we will never get over, but it helps knowing we can support other families in his name.

You can choose to support any ward or department that holds special meaning for you or your loved one, ensuring your tribute makes a difference exactly where you wish.
Your tribute page can include photos, messages, stories, and details of any fundraising you choose to do – creating a lasting legacy that makes a real difference for patients and families cared for at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Make a Donation
All donations in memory can be directed to the ward or department of your choice, ensuring your support goes exactly where it matters most to you. You can make a one-off or regular donation in memory of someone special, or ask friends and family to contribute instead of giving flowers. Your gift will help us provide the best possible care for patients now and in the future.
Funeral or Memorial Collections
Many families choose to collect donations at a funeral or memorial service in lieu of flowers. We can provide collection envelopes or help you set up a MuchLoved page to make this as simple as possible.
