Clinical staff in the Endoscopy unit at Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital are benefitting from new training equipment with the use of a huge 55-inch mobile screen costing £1,200 and funded by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity.

Christine Roberts, Manager of the unit says, ‘I am responsible for organising training initiatives for the Endoscopy unit’s nursing staff, often involving consultants from the gastro and respiratory teams. With the number of staff involved in the training, it was proving difficult to share information from a laptop. We are so grateful to our charity for funding this invaluable training equipment, it allows us to fully digitalise online training across the whole team and has also proved invaluable for new and current nursing staff in demonstrating a wide range of procedures, presentations, videos and equipment images on the screen to underpin skills and learning, helping us maintain the highest standards of care and the best possible patient experience.”

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity also funded a second mobile screen in the Endoscopy unit at Royal Preston Hospital, meaning that staff across both sites have the same access to learning opportunities and all training is streamlined.
