Sometimes it’s the small things which make a big difference.  When we were approached by Lancashire Teaching Hospital’s Children’s Community Clinic team at the Broadoaks and Ashton clinics to fund motivational stickers to give to the children they see, we were delighted to say yes! The stickers help encourage the children to interact with the staff who check their height, weight and blood pressure, and with the consultant when they’re having an examination.

Over 30 children each day attend our community clinics and many have neuro development, autism spectrum and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders. Ashley Watkinson, the Clinic Facilitator says, “We give the motivational stickers to the children to recognise positive behaviour when we are examining and them and they really respond to this.  When the children return for future appointments they feel more relaxed and positive about the clinic and have an altogether more comfortable experience.”
