Dementia Resource Corridor

Project cost: £4,390

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful supporters, we’ve been able to fund a new Dementia Resource Corridor at Royal Preston Hospital.

The corridor, which was officially opened by our Nursing, Midwifery and AHP Director, Sarah Cullen, aims to promote dementia awareness and features a range of resources for staff members and people affected by dementia to learn about the disease and strategies to enable people to live well. The corridor also features some cognitive stimulation activities and signposting information on local and national services.

The project was made possible thanks to donations to our charity, including a generous £2,000 donation from local recruitment agency, Service Care Solutions towards a dementia pledge tree which features pledges from staff members demonstrating their commitment to continual improvement. Additionally, local schools and colleges got behind the project and have developed art pieces designed to stimulate conversation and reminiscence.

We would like to give a big thanks to Service Care Solutions and everyone who helped made this project a reality.
