Virtual Rainbow Run 2020!

Where: Any location of your choice!

When: Between 5th and 25th October 2020

Registration: Free

Get your rainbow colours on and run, walk, cycle or scoot in support of our hospital charity!

With many fundraising events sadly postponed due to coronavirus, we are excited to introduce Lancashire Teaching Hospital’s Charity’s very first VIRTUAL Rainbow Run!

To take part in our event we are asking our supporters to run (or walk, cycle, scoot) their preferred route and distance while gaining sponsorship to support your local NHS!

Our Virtual Rainbow Run will ‘launch’ on Monday 5th October. You can then complete your chosen distance any time between Monday 5th October and Saturday 24th October. You could do the distance all in one go, or gradually over the three week event period!

Whether it be a 1k Rainbow Toddle for families with young children to a full marathon, the distance is completely up to you, so you can set your own personal challenge!

The only requirement is that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

What’s most important is that you have some FUN with your fundraising!

The sky is the limit but here are some ideas so you can make the most of your Virtual Rainbow Run:

  • Face Paint a Rainbow before you set off!
  • Add colour to your hair or beard!
  • Paint each of your nails a colour of the rainbow
  • Wear all the colours of the rainbow!
  • Find a white t-shirt and decorate it with a rainbow
  • Let your neighbours know so they clap and cheer you on your way
  • Decorate pebbles with rainbows and leave them along the route of your journey
  • Look out for rainbows in windows along the way and cheer when you see them!

Registration is free!

So that we know you’re taking part, please email our Fundraiser, Roya HERE to sign up to our event!

When you raise a minimum suggested sponsorship target of £10 per adult or £7.50 per child we’ll send you one of our colourful charity t-shirts! *Limited sizes available

Once you’ve signed up to take part you can set up your justgiving fundraising page here:

With many of our events being cancelled this year, we really hope you sign up to take part in our Virtual Rainbow Run. Your support will help to ensure that the patients treated in our hospital get the very best care, in the very best facilities.

If you have any questions please contact our Fundraising Co-ordinator Roya Armstrong who can offer any advice and support along the way!
