Wall art funded to help improve experience for Paediatric Patients in Main Theatre department
Project cost: £2358

Thanks to charitable donations we have been able to support improvements to the main theatre department at Royal Preston Hospital which at a cost of £2,385, aims to ensure young patients have additional support when visiting the department.
In line with suggestions from external auditors, the space is now more child focused with the addition of specialist children’s wall art in the allocated recovery area, ensuring the space is identifiable as a purely designated paediatric recovery area and helping to make an often-daunting experience for children and young people, a little bit easier.
The new improvements to the department will be used to enhance patient experience for children and their families who are being cared for in the main theatre department and will also benefit patients with additional assistance needs who are being looked after on specific operating lists. The project will provide a calming environment that will reduce stress and anxiety for approximately 70 children and patients with additional needs and disabilities, who come through the department for surgery per month.
