Thanks to charitable donations, we’ve been able to fund iPads for our Renal Department to use across seven dialysis units to allow patients receiving dialysis the opportunity to benefit from the Kidney Beam digital health and wellbeing resource.

Kidney Beam is an interactive exercise and lifestyle management app, designed to improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of kidney patients, the app offers on demand and live exercises and the chance to connect with fellow patients.

Individuals living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) report high levels of physical inactivity and poor emotional well-being. Despite disease-specific guidelines promoting physical activity participation, people living with CKD do not routinely receive physical activity or emotional well-being support as part of their clinical care.

We are delighted that patients will now have access to use Kidney Beam during their scheduled dialysis sessions to improve their physical and mental health. Thanks to all our wonderful supporters for making this possible!
