Thanks to a generous £1,000 grant from Tesco Stronger Starts, alongside support from other kind funders, new LED sky ceiling tiles have been installed in the treatment room on Ward 8 at Royal Preston Hospital.

The new ceiling panels are already making a real difference on the Children’s Ward. Designed to create a calming and engaging environment, the changing lights and sky patterns help to gently distract young patients during procedures such as blood tests and skin prick tests. They are suitable for children of all ages, and are particularly beneficial for babies, who can focus on the soothing lights above them.

By transforming the treatment room into a more tranquil and child-friendly space, the LED ceiling tiles are helping to improve the overall experience for our young patients and their parents or carers. We are incredibly grateful to Tesco Stronger Starts and all those who have supported this project for helping us enhance the care environment on Ward 8.
